PlotClip ("we") turns a text idea into a vertical short video. This policy explains what data we process and why.

Who is responsible

The data controller is the operator identified in the Imprint. Contact: [email protected].

Why we process data (legal bases)

• To provide the service (contract): generating your videos, managing credits, publishing on your instruction, support.
• To keep the service secure and working (legitimate interest): operational logs, abuse prevention, error diagnosis.
• Connected social accounts (your action): we only hold publishing access you have explicitly granted, and you can revoke it at any time (see below).

Data we collect

• Account: your email address and basic profile (name) from Google Sign-In.
• Content you create: your prompts, generated scripts, images, audio, captions and the finished videos.
• Usage: credits used, projects, and basic operational logs needed to run the service.
• Connected accounts: if you choose to publish, the connection details of the social accounts you connect (account name and ID, and for YouTube an access token) — used only to publish on your instruction and to fetch the performance statistics shown in your own dashboard. We never post, comment, follow or read private messages on your behalf.
• Launch notifications: if you ask us to notify you when paid plans open, we store that email address for this single purpose, send one email when they do, and then delete the address. You can request earlier removal at [email protected].
• Visitor statistics: we count public-page visits using a one-way hash of your IP address and browser that rotates daily — the IP itself is never stored, no analytics cookies are set, and at most a coarse country code is derived locally. Individual visitors cannot be tracked across days.
• Support messages: if you contact support, the messages you send us, your plan and email at that time, and technical context attached to help resolve the issue (e.g. the video or error involved, browser and screen size).

AI processing & sub-processors

To run the service we share the minimum necessary data with the following sub-processors, each under their own terms. We do not use your content to train our own models.

• Anthropic (Claude) — script, ideas, metadata and content-moderation generation.
• fal.ai (FLUX) — image generation.
• ElevenLabs — text-to-speech narration.
• Google / YouTube Data API — sign-in and, if you connect it, publishing to your YouTube channel.
• Delivery partner — beta only (Zernio / getlate.dev) — while direct publishing is in beta, delivers your video to your connected TikTok/Instagram accounts on your instruction. The video file and its caption pass through the partner for delivery. This beta arrangement ends — and this entry will be removed — when our direct platform integrations are live.
• Stripe — payment processing (when paid plans are enabled). We do not store card numbers; Stripe handles them.
• Resend (via Amazon SES, EU region) — delivers transactional email such as support replies and confirmations to your address. Message content and your email address pass through it for delivery.
• Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany, EU) — hosts the app and stores your data on servers in the EU.

International transfers

Some sub-processors are located outside the EEA/UK (e.g. in the US). Where required we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Publishing & platform APIs

Publishing is optional and always to accounts you own. We act only on your explicit approval: you approve each video before it is scheduled or published.

YouTube. PlotClip uses YouTube API Services to let you connect your own channel, upload the videos you approve, and show your videos' statistics (views, watch time, retention) in your dashboard. By using this feature you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service; Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy. We store your channel name and ID, an access token, and per-video statistics; stored YouTube data is refreshed regularly (at least every 30 days) and deleted with your account. PlotClip's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke PlotClip's access at any time from your Google Account permissions page or by disconnecting the channel in Settings → Accounts.

How PlotClip uses, processes and shares YouTube data. "YouTube data" here means what we receive from YouTube API Services for your connected channel: channel name and ID, an access token, and per-video statistics.

• How we use it: to keep your channel connected, to upload and schedule the videos you approve, and to show your own videos' performance in your own dashboard. Nothing else — it is never used for advertising, profiling, or training AI models.
• How we process and store it: access tokens are stored encrypted at rest; channel details and statistics are stored in our database on servers hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in the EU (see sub-processors above).
• Internal access: PlotClip is run by a single operator. Your YouTube data is visible to you in your own account, and to the operator only where needed to run the service or to help with a support request you make. There are no other employees or internal teams.
• External sharing: we do not sell, rent, or share YouTube data with third parties. The AI providers listed under sub-processors (Anthropic, fal.ai, ElevenLabs) never receive it — they only process the content being generated — and the beta delivery partner never receives it either, because YouTube publishing happens directly between PlotClip and YouTube. The only external party that stores it is our hosting provider (Hetzner, EU), as part of running the service. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

Instagram. Publishing to Instagram requires an Instagram Business or Creator account. Each post is made only on your approval. Meta's handling of your data is described in the Meta Privacy Policy. We store the account name and ID, and per-post statistics. You can disconnect in Settings → Accounts, or remove access from Instagram's own Settings → Apps and websites.

TikTok. Videos are posted to your connected TikTok account only when you approve them, with the visibility (public / followers / friends / only me) and interaction settings you choose — we never pre-select them. TikTok's handling of your data is described in the TikTok Privacy Policy. We store the account name and ID, and per-post statistics. You can disconnect in Settings → Accounts, or remove access in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy → Security → Apps.

How PlotClip uses, processes and shares TikTok and Instagram data. "TikTok and Instagram data" here means what we receive for your connected accounts: account name and ID, and per-post statistics.

• How we use it: to publish the videos you approve to your own accounts and to show your own posts' performance in your own dashboard. Nothing else — it is never used for advertising, profiling, or training AI models.
• How we process and store it: account details and statistics are stored in our database on servers hosted by Hetzner Online GmbH in the EU. During the beta, the account connection and its access token are held by the delivery partner (see below), not by us.
• Internal access: the same as for YouTube data above — a single operator, no other personnel.
• External sharing: we do not sell, rent, or share TikTok or Instagram data with third parties. For delivery during the beta, your video file and its caption pass through the delivery partner listed under sub-processors; our AI providers never receive your platform data. We may disclose information where the law requires it.

During the beta: delivery to TikTok and Instagram is performed by the delivery partner listed under sub-processors, using their own approved platform integrations, and the account connection (including its access token) is held by the partner rather than by us. This arrangement ends when our direct platform integrations are live; this policy will be updated at that point.

Disconnecting accounts & deleting platform data

Disconnect any social account in Settings → Accounts. Disconnected accounts sit in a short recovery window (shown in Settings) and are then permanently removed — or use Delete permanently now to remove the connection and revoke the platform grant immediately. Deleting your PlotClip account (Settings → Privacy & data) removes your connections, tokens and stored platform data. You can also email [email protected] to request deletion of any data we hold about you; we complete such requests within 30 days.

Retention

• Editable source assets (source images/audio): kept up to ~30 days after generation (shorter once published), then deleted.
• Finished videos: your videos are kept for as long as your subscription is active. If a subscription ends, the video files are kept for a further 90 days and then removed. On the free plan, video files are kept for 90 days after they are made — downloading is part of the free flow, so the file is yours to keep. We email you 30 days before anything is removed, and downloading works right up to that date. What is never removed on this schedule: your account, your video history, the links to posts already published on your own channels, and their statistics — only the video file itself goes. Copies you have already published to your own accounts are never affected.
• Free-trial abuse prevention: when an account is deleted we keep a one-way, keyed fingerprint of the sign-in identity for 12 months — never the email address itself, and it cannot be reversed back to you. Its only purpose is to stop the same person from repeatedly deleting and recreating an account to claim the one-time free trial again (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). After 12 months it is deleted automatically and a free trial is available again.
• Inactive free accounts: if a free account has no sign-in for 6 months, we email a warning to the account's address; if there is still no sign-in within a further 30 days, the account and everything in it — including generated videos — is permanently deleted. Signing in at any point cancels this. Paid accounts are never deleted for inactivity.
• Connected-platform data (account name/ID, tokens, per-post statistics): tokens are removed when a disconnected account passes its recovery window, or immediately with Delete permanently now; all platform data is deleted with your account.
• Metadata & analytics: retained while your account is active for reporting.
• Support conversations: kept while your account is active and deleted at the latest ~24 months after a conversation is resolved. Our email delivery log (address, subject, delivery status — not message bodies) is kept ~90 days for troubleshooting.
• On account deletion: your rows and rendered files are erased immediately, including your support conversations (see Your rights). Two records are kept in anonymised form, with no link back to you once your account row is gone: an administrative audit trail (which admin action was taken on which account — needed to detect misuse of admin powers) and credit/billing ledger entries (required for accounting). We also keep anonymous signup/closure counts (date, plan, how long the account existed) with no identifier at all. None of these contain your name, email or content. Backups roll off within ~30 days.

Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the EEA/UK you may request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. Use Settings → Privacy & data (Export my data / Delete account) or contact us. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

The service

PlotClip generates vertical short videos from your prompts and lets you download them or, with your explicit approval, publish them to your own connected social accounts.

Your account

You must provide accurate sign-in information and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a binding contract in your country.

Your content & ownership

You retain ownership of the videos you generate. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate the service (generate, store, and — on your instruction — publish your content). You are responsible for ensuring your prompts and outputs comply with our Acceptable Use Policy and the rules of any platform you publish to.

Publishing & platform terms

Publishing is optional and always to accounts you own; you approve each video, or a series you can cancel. By connecting a YouTube channel you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. When publishing to TikTok you must comply with the TikTok Terms of Service and Community Guidelines; when publishing to Instagram, with the Instagram Terms of Use. Platforms may change or withdraw their APIs; we may pause publishing to a platform where its rules require it.

AI-generated content

Outputs are produced by automated AI systems and may contain inaccuracies. You are responsible for reviewing content before publishing and for any required AI-content disclosure on the destination platform.

Plans, credits & billing

Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or yearly cycle and renew automatically until cancelled. Each plan includes a monthly credit allotment (one standard video = 100 credits; a long video = 200). Credits reset at the start of each billing period — a month from the day you subscribed — and do not roll over; they have no cash value and are non-transferable. We may change prices or plan contents with reasonable prior notice, effective from your next renewal.

Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel anytime; cancellation stops the next renewal and you keep access until the end of the paid period. Except where required by law (e.g. the EU right of withdrawal, which may not apply once digital content has been generated with your consent), payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not pro-rated. Statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

Beta

Direct publishing is offered as a beta and may change or be unavailable. The service is provided "as is" without warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law; our liability is limited as far as the law allows.

Termination

You may stop using the service and delete your account at any time (Settings → Privacy & data). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy. Inactive free accounts may also be removed: if a free account has no sign-in for 6 months we email a warning, and if 30 more days pass with no sign-in the account and its content are permanently deleted. Signing in cancels this, and paid accounts are never deleted for inactivity.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Finland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence. Disputes are resolved in the Finnish courts; consumers may also use the routes listed in the Imprint.

Cookie Policy

What we use

We use only essential cookies: pc_session keeps you signed in, and short-lived oauth_state / yt_oauth_state cookies protect the sign-in and account-connect flows against CSRF. They are strictly necessary and are not used for advertising or analytics.

Analytics & tracking

We do not set non-essential advertising or cross-site tracking cookies in the app. If that changes, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.

Managing cookies

You can clear cookies in your browser at any time; doing so will sign you out.

Acceptable Use & AI-Content Policy

Don't create or publish

• Illegal content, or content that infringes others' intellectual-property or privacy rights.
• Content sexualizing minors, or non-consensual, hateful, harassing, or violent extremist material.
• Realistic impersonation of real people, deceptive deepfakes, or disinformation presented as fact.
• Spam or mass-posting, artificially inflating views or engagement, or anything that violates a destination platform's rules or rate limits.

AI-content labeling

PlotClip videos are AI-generated, and PlotClip always sends the platform's AI-content disclosure with every publish — it is not an optional setting. You remain responsible for any additional labelling a platform requires of you as the account holder.

Enforcement

We may remove content or suspend accounts that breach this policy.
