How often should you post? A sustainable cadence guide
The honest answer: the best cadence is the one you can hold for months. Here's how to pick it — and how to make holding it cost you 30 seconds a day.
Pick for your worst week
Daily posting compounds fastest, but only if it actually happens. A channel that posts three times a week for six months beats one that posts daily for three weeks and disappears. Choose the cadence you can sustain when work is busy and motivation is gone — you can always step it up later.
The cadences that work
- Daily — the strongest signal to the platform, and the fastest way to learn what your audience holds for. Realistic with a series doing the production for you.
- 3× per week — the sustainable sweet spot for most solo creators. Enough rhythm for the audience to expect you.
- Weekly — fine for long-form-style storytelling, slow for shorts. Use it as a floor, not a target.
Make the cadence a habit, keep the judgment
A PlotClip series generates each video ahead of its slot and parks it in your review queue. Approving takes about 30 seconds; skipping a weak one takes one. The schedule holds even when you're travelling — because the work is done before the deadline, not at it.
Judge weeks, not videos
One flat video means nothing. Compare week over week: is average retention trending up? Are the same hook styles winning? That's the signal worth acting on — and it only exists if the cadence held.
